In a circular economy, we need to be more conscious about how we use our raw materials. It is essential to make a well-considered choice of materials. Within CIRCO, materials are always considered in relation to the application (product level) and the system in which this product functions (system level). The Materials Module Consumer Goods specifically addresses material choices when designing consumer goods. The module answers the question: what is the most sustainable material for consumer goods? It highlights areas of concern in material selection and also briefly outlines relevant laws and regulations. The environmental impact of plastics, metals, ceramic materials, wood, paper and cardboard, and other natural materials is outlined. It provides an overview of advantages and disadvantages for these different materials and inspires with innovative cases in this area. Thus, you are equipped with all the necessary materials knowledge to design circular consumer goods!

CIRCO

The circular economy does not arise by itself. CIRCO (a program of TKI-CLICKNL) focuses on getting a new market moving. CIRCO therefore activates - with the support of the government - entrepreneurs and creative professionals to (re)design products, services and business models in order to then do circular business.
