Datafication / digitization

Digitization and circular design are two current drivers of innovation. And they reinforce each other enormously. We can design chains much smarter and close them more efficiently if we have insight into the materials deployed, product use or overall impact. To retain value, you want to know where products are and what their quality is. Preferably, you can monitor and maintain them remotely. With smart use of data, you can also optimize the use of your product and its value to users. But digitization goes beyond data collection. Smart Industry elements can play a major role in chain closure and value retention.

By linking products, machines and people together, we can prevent loss of value. With small-scale, flexible production facilities, for example, you ensure that the right product parts are made at the right time, without loss or waste of raw materials. And so there are many more solutions that contribute to smart production and utilization. All in all, there are a lot of interfaces between digitization and circular economy whose applications we are rapidly exploring.
