CIRCO's new supply chain approach connects companies for a circular product chain

Circonnect partner CIRCO is expanding its offerings! In addition to the well-known Tracks for companies wanting to learn about circular design principles and business models, there are now also Chain Tracks. The goal? To put entire product chains - from furniture to mounting frames for solar panels - into action to prevent products from simply being thrown away and valuable resources being lost.

How Chain Tracks are future-proofing sectors

The purpose of Chain-Tracks is clear: to help companies find ways to reuse their products and keep raw materials as best they can within the chain, rather than simply discarding products. In short: a well-thought-out (nationwide) reuse system is needed.

Bas Hillerström (CIRCO trainer): "Thanks to our regular CIRCO Tracks, we have built an extensive network and know exactly which companies to bring together to achieve a closed chain."

Whereas regular CIRCO Tracks help individual companies develop circular business opportunities, Chain Tracks move entire product chains forward. From furniture to mounting frames for solar panels - this approach connects chain partners, encourages collaboration and helps fragmented links to develop a circular strategy together to close their chain.

"We started with about a dozen companies, but the group that wants to take initiative at the chain level for a circular economy continues to grow. More and more parties are discovering their role in the chain. Cooperation makes circular business more feasible and attractive," says Bas.

From fragmented supply chain to industry-wide cooperation

In late 2024, CIRCO organized a Chain Track to bring together the various links in the solar panel mounting frame industry. Think electrolysers, batteries, climate installations and mechanical engineering. These Chain Tracks are an extra half-day session on top of the regular CIRCO Tracks.
