The world is changing rapidly; those who innovate intelligently are ahead. Digitalization and circularity reinforce each other in this regard: data make circular chains transparent, increase labor productivity and open the way to new business models.

Networking Day Digital & Circular

During the Network Day Digital & Circular, organized by Circonnect and the Versnellingshuis Nederland Circulair! on November 27, 2025 in Utrecht, you will experience how the combination of smart and circular brings innovations further. You will discover the latest insights from research by TNO and PBL (among others) and hear stories from practice that you can apply immediately.

What to expect.

  • Current insights on European and Dutch policy developments.
  • Case stories of frontrunners implementing circular innovations using smart solutions.
  • Concrete tools to harness data and digitization for innovation.
  • Dialogue and reflection with intermediaries, chain directors, designers and policy makers.

Program

12:45 - 13:15 | Walk-in.
Reception with coffee and time to network in advance.

13:15 - 14:40 | Plenary sessions.
Welcome by Iris Grobben, followed by inspiring presentations from:

  • Jeannette Levels (Circonnect) on TNO's Smart & Circular research and Circonnect's associated design tool.
  • Jaimy Nijnens (DigiC) on digitization in construction and factory building.
  • Nikki Admiraal (Tex.Tracer) on their platform for a sustainable textile supply chain.
  • Martijn Austria (Madaster) on their platform for circular construction.

Following: panel discussion with the speakers led by Iris Grobben. We will discuss current themes such as transparency, data sharing, digitalization and trust in the chain.

14:40 - 16:30 | Part sessions - choose two sessions you would like to join

Smarter Together
During this interactive session, explore how data, automation and smart design tools can help you earn more with fewer resources. Featured are the three 'digital circular buttons' that companies can turn directly. With Jan Westra & Gerard Blom (European Digitalisation and Innovation Hub).

Data & Legislation
New laws and regulations make it increasingly important to keep good commodity records. In this session, discover how to collect data on your value chain in an automated way to analyze risks and comply with legislation such as the CSRD, CSDDD, CRMA and ESPR. With Teresa Oberhauser (Circularise).

Product data as strategic capital
This workshop introduces you to the strategic potential of product data and teaches you how to use it to future-proof your business. You will discover how to collect and structure data in a Land and Product Passport - an overview in which all relevant product information is transparently and traceably recorded. With Ingeborg Gort (Circonnect) & VDL.

Unlocking the Urban Mine
For the foreseeable future, solar panels will constitute the largest e-waste stream in the Netherlands. The solar PV product team is working on a system that provides real-time insight into where solar panels are installed, what types and capacities are present, what condition they are in, and when they will become available from the urban mine. This will allow companies and policy makers to better anticipate the amount of materials that can be reused or recycled. With Robin Quax (TKI Urban Energy).

16:30 - 17:30 | Networking drinks.
End the day with a drink and meet other professionals from the network.

For whom?

This afternoon is especially for trainers, designers, decentralized governments, regional accelerators, acceleration partners of the Versnellingshuis and chain directors. Together we will explore how digitization accelerates circular innovation - and how it makes companies grow agile and sustainable.

CIRCO

The circular economy does not arise by itself. CIRCO (a program of TKI-CLICKNL) focuses on getting a new market moving. CIRCO therefore activates - with the support of the government - entrepreneurs and creative professionals to (re)design products, services and business models in order to then do circular business.
