Municipalities have a significant influence on the transition to a circular construction economy, but they frequently encounter the same question when it comes to specific projects: What do you do if the circular products or services you need are not yet available on the market as ready-made solutions?
CIRCO Keten-Track as a management tool
Using the CIRCO Chain-Track, new circular supply chains with promising business propositions have already been successfully developed across various sectors. The approach helps municipalities in two ways: by making concrete progress on circular construction, real estate, and infrastructure projects, and by mobilizing and supporting regional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing future-proof products, services, and partnerships. The Supply Chain Track thus serves as a relevant tool for market consultations and competitive bidding, enabling the municipality to leverage its own purchasing power to stimulate market development.
The Keten-Track is a three-day workshop in which companies and local governments collaborate on a specific circular economy challenge. We are currently developing the approach for use in municipal construction and infrastructure projects, and we will be testing this further development in this workshop together with several municipalities.
This fall, Circonnect is organizing an online workshop specifically for municipalities to introduce them to the CIRCO Keten-Track methodology as a management tool for their own projects and processes, and to serve as a sounding board for brainstorming ways to align the approach even more closely with municipal processes.
Note: The date of the session will be determined in consultation with the participants.
What you'll get out of the session:
- You’ll gain insight into the roles in the supply chain that are necessary to turn a circular ambition into a viable proposition;
- You know which preconditions and decision points play a role in that process;
- You’ll recognize the moment when the Keten-Track actually makes a difference in your own process;
- You are taking a concrete step toward gaining more control over your municipality's demand capacity.
For whom?
In this workshop, we’ll briefly explain the approach and engage in a dialogue with municipalities to serve as a sounding board: where does the Keten-Track best fit within municipal processes and tasks? We welcome colleagues from procurement/tendering, municipal or social real estate, area development, housing, infrastructure/public space, operations/asset management, and economic affairs or business services, as well as colleagues working in the circular economy. We’d especially like to hear from people involved in specific projects, replacement initiatives, future tenders, or supporting regional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
