Train-the-trainer on data-driven Circonnect tools and Circonnect 2027
On December 3, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., we’re organizing an afternoon event to bring trainers together, followed by drinks. During this afternoon, there will be a train-the-trainer session on several Circonnect tools that help companies get started with product and environmental data. We’ll also discuss the Roadmaps and the future of CIRCO and Circonnect starting in 2027.
Train-the-trainer: Data-Driven Circonnect Tools
For the T2T, we’ll walk you through how the tools work, the relationship between them, and how to use them in your own projects with entrepreneurs:
- Environmental Performance of Machinery*: The Environmental Performance of Machinery framework was developed for the manufacturing and machine-building industries and helps machine manufacturers collect structured environmental data for a life cycle assessment (LCA) of their machines. This also allows for a direct link to Circonnect’s Environmental Impact Tool.
- Environmental Impact Tool Update: The relationship to the Environmental Performance of Machinery is explored in greater depth, and the MIT update is explained.
- Raw Materials & Product Passport 2.0: From Data to Value Creation. The GPP tool has been further developed, and we’d like to walk you through it. With the GPP tool, companies can identify which data points are relevant to their product and translate those into design questions and improvement actions. In this way, they prepare for the DPP and strengthen their strategic position in the supply chain.
* Further Explanation of Environmental Performance of Machinery (MPM)
Manufacturers who want to conduct an LCA or prepare an EPD must collect a large amount of product data. This information must be processed according to a standardized methodology (the requirements set forth in the complementary product category rules, c-PRC). For a company’s own data management, it is helpful if the data is reproducible, so that the company does not have to start from scratch for every configuration.
MPM teaches you how to collect data in a structured way for a life cycle assessment (LCA) of a machine, based on the c-PCR developed specifically for machines. Even if this is your first step into the world of product data and you’ve never heard of PCR or EPD, the Environmental Performance of Machinery initiative helps you organize your product data so you can derive more value from it.
