In a circular economy, we need to be more conscious about how we use our raw materials. It is essential to make a well-considered choice of materials. Within CIRCO, materials are always considered in relation to the application (product level) and the system in which this product functions (system level). The Materials Module Construction deals specifically with material choices when designing buildings and infrastructure. The module answers the question: what is the most sustainable material in construction? The environmental impact of plastics, metals, ceramic materials, wood, and other natural materials is outlined. It provides an overview of advantages and disadvantages for these different materials and inspires with innovative cases in this field. Thus, you are equipped with all the necessary materials knowledge to build circularly!
