CIRCO Chain-Track Methodology Available for Municipal Construction and Infrastructure Projects
Municipalities can use the CIRCO Chain-Track to make concrete progress on circular construction, real estate, and infrastructure projects. The methodology has proven effective across seven different tracks, ranging from HVAC systems to street furniture. In each track, clients and market participants collaborated to develop feasible proposals, map out supply chain roles, and launch pilot projects. Circonnect explains the approach in an online workshop specifically focused on municipal construction, real estate, and infrastructure projects.
Municipalities are increasingly translating their circular economy goals into concrete projects and tenders. In doing so, they encounter a recurring problem: the desired circular products and services do not yet exist on the market as ready-made solutions. Individual market players are rarely able to independently handle return logistics, quality assurance, repairs, data exchange, warranties, and resale.
The Keten-Track as a Management Tool
The CIRCO Chain-Track is based on the insight that achieving a fully circular proposition requires the involvement of the entire supply chain. This approach has proven to be widely applicable in practice and also offers a path forward for this challenge. The Chain-Track brings clients and market participants together to develop, based on a specific challenge, feasible propositions, clear supply chain roles, and conditions for pilot projects. For municipalities, this has a twofold benefit: the approach tangibly advances circular construction, real estate, and infrastructure projects, and mobilizes regional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop future-proof products, services, and partnerships. In addition, the Chain Track serves as a relevant tool for market consultations and procurement processes, enabling the municipality to leverage its own purchasing power to stimulate market development.
For participants, the workshop is a first step toward taking greater control of that market demand. Those who participate will gain insight into the supply chain roles, preconditions, and decision points necessary to move from a circular ambition to a viable proposition, as well as the point in their own process where the Supply Chain Track actually makes a difference. This makes the session a stepping stone toward more targeted steering of circular market development, rather than waiting for the market to come up with a ready-made solution on its own.
Let's Get to Work Together
During the workshop, Circonnect will explain its proven approach and, together with participants, apply it to municipal processes and challenges. Colleagues from virtually every municipal sector are welcome: procurement and contracting, municipal or social real estate, area development, housing, infrastructure and public space, operations and asset management, economic affairs and business services, and the circular economy. Participants involved in specific projects, replacement initiatives, future procurements, or support for regional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will benefit most from the session.
The date will be set in consultation with the participants.
